Table 1 shows some estimates for some supersonic and hypersonic vehicles. These temperatures
are approximate data for stagnation points, and therefore represent the actual local maxima.
Also, the data must be intended at cruise condition, with the corresponding atmospheric
data.
The experimental aircraft X-15 performed at top speeds of M = 7. At this speed the data above
does not apply.
